Char Siu, Siu Yuk, Roast Sausage

Chuan Cheng Roasted Delight offers the usual selection of siu mei roasted meats. Above is their char siew, siu yuk and roast sausage served with rice.

The char siew is tender and meaty with some soft fatty parts. It has a nice sweet taste. The savoury tasting siu yuk is soft and meaty as well with some fatty parts and a very crispy skin. It is nice! As for the roast sausage, it is firm and has a sweet taste with a faint note of smokiness. Recommended.

The assortment of roasted meats comes served with a plain white rice that has a nice firm texture. A bowl of savoury tasting soup and a dried shrimped flavoured chilli paste comes on the side.

Roast Chicken

The roast chicken has smooth and moist meat with a mildly crispy skin that is fairly flavourful. It is not fully deboned though. The slices of chicken meat comes served on a plate of flavoured rice. A bowl of savoury flavoured soup, and a limey and garlicky tasting chilli sauce is provided on the side. Quite likeable.

Wanton Mee

Noodles is available here as well. Above is their wanton mee which comes with slices of char siew, on a plate of tossed noodles. Both soup wanton and fried wanton are included.

The char siew is soft and meaty with a nice sweet taste. The fried wanton has a crispy skin and the soup wanton has a soft skin wrapper. Both contains a nice savoury tasting meat filling. The noodles is firm and springy, and is tossed in a savoury black sauce seasoning with some vegetables and pork lard. As for the soup, it is savory with a hint of ikan bilis flavours. Likeable too.
