Tanjong Pagar Fried Carrot Cake

does this in both black and white versions. Quite ordinary but still fairly likeable.

Fried Carrot Cake

This fried carrot cake stall located in Tanjong Pagar Plaza Food Centre is simply known as Chai Tow Kway which literally means fried carrot cake. Let’s call it Tanjong Pagar Fried Carrot Cake just as an easy reference to this stall. Tanjong Pagar Fried Carrot Cake does both the usual black version and white version of fried carrot cake.

This fried carrot cake uses small longish cubes of radish cakes with quite a bit of chye poh added. It is not crispy, however it is fried quite dry and with the chye poh, tastes quite nice. The white version isn’t the pancake style type but in cubes. Likewise for the black version, it just has sweet black sauce added giving it a mildly sweet taste.

Both are quite ordinary but tastes decently nice and fairly likeable.
