Signature Noodles

Fu Ji Fuzhou Fish Ball Wanton Noodles serves fuzhou fishball noodles as well as wanton mee. Above is their signature noodles which is essentially wanton mee with added fuzhou fishballs. The yan jiao dumplings are an extra add on.

Slices of lean meat char siew is provided with the noodles. The char siew is soft and meaty with a sweet taste. The tossed noodles is fairly firm and springy with a decent tasting soya sauce based seasoning. A bowl of slight peppery flavoured soup is provided on the side, containing pieces of wanton, fuzhou fishballs and yan jiao dumplings.

The wanton has soft skin wrapping a flavourful soft meat filling. The fuzhou fishball is smooth and springy with a meaty filling hidden among its fish paste. The meat filling has a light hint of rice wine, which is rather nice. The yan jiao dumpling is somewhat similar to a fish dumpling with a smooth skin. Its filling however is different. It has a nicely flavoured meaty filling with crunchy bits of water chestnut. Not bad.

All in all, this serving of signature noodles is a rather decent tasting one.
