Hainanese Chicken Rice

Weng Kee Hainan Boneless Chicken Rice sells pretty nice Hainanese chicken rice with the regular choices of Hainanese chicken or roast chicken.

The chicken meat is served on a plate with cucumber slices and a sweet soya sauce seasoning that tastes nice. Both the Hainanese chicken and roast chicken are quite juicy and tender, but the meat is a bit rough though. Would have been nicer if the meat is smooth too. The Hainanese chicken skin is fairly smooth and the roast chicken skin has nice savour flavours.

The plate of rice is decently fragrant and not oily. The pleasant surprise is that it comes with some acar on the side. The acar tastes refreshing which its sourly and mildly spicy flavours.

The soup is nicely flavoured too which a slight hint of ginger taste. The accompanying chilli sauce is quite standard chicken rice garlic chilli.

In short, this is quite a nice chicken rice. Not the best in town, but still likeable.
