Chicken Rice, Char Siew, Roast Pork Rice

Bukit Merah View Roasted Chicken Rice sells both roasted chicken and Hainanese chicken rice, as well as char siew and roast pork.

The roast chicken is decent. Averagely smooth and tender meat with nice savoury flavoured chicken skin. The Hainanese chicken has smoother meat and skin, with a nice soya sauce based seasoning. Both are pleasant.

The surprise here is their char siew. It has a sticky charred honey coating, giving it a very nice sweet honey flavour. Ask for the fatty ones, they’re tender and juicy. Really nice. The roast pork is quite nice too, with a crispy roasted skin. Decent flavours and quite tender too.

All of these comes a slightly fragrant rice with a tint of ginger tastes, and a small bowl of light sesame oil flavoured soup on the side.

This may not be something exceptional, but it is still likeable satisfying.
