Nasi Lemak

Xiang Xiang Nasi Lemak is a popular stall that sells only nasi lemak and is usually sold out by late morning. I’ve managed to get my hands on one of the last servings of their nasi lemak before they close for the day. Their fried chicken wing and fried egg are already sold out for the day. Managed to get a piece of ngo hiang, 2 pieces of fried fish cake, a slice of luncheon meat with peanuts and ikan bilis.

True to its name, its rice is really fragrant with nice flavours of coconut milk. The ngo hiang is meaty and moist with light savoury flavours. The fish cake is soft and savoury. Luncheon meat is just your usual canned stuff though. Comes with crunchy peanuts and crispy ikan bilis served on the side with a spicy and mild salty flavoured chilli. Worth mentioning, the ikan bilis has a mildly sweet taste which is nice. This is truly an enjoyable plate of nasi lemak.
