Fried Kway Teow

The fried kway teow comes with see hum, lap cheong and fish cake slices. The kway teow and yellow noodles mixture is wok fried with some bean sprouts and egg. Some sweet black sauce is added to it giving it a slightly moist texture and a hint of sweetness.

The see hum is rather large, plump and juicy, and tastes rather fresh. The lap cheong is soft and sweet, and the fish cake is firm and springy. As for the fried kway teow itself, it has a mild smokiness of wok hei and a hint of sweetness. Not bad.

Besides the regular fried kway teow, there is a seafood version available as well which comes with prawns, sotong and fish cake slices. The prawn tastes decently fresh and the sotong is fairly soft. The seafood fried kway teow is a nice choice too.

Fried Hokkien Mee

The fried hokkien mee is the wet type soaking in a broth, with prawns, sotong and fish cake slices. A mixture of yellow noodles and mee hoon is wok fried with some bean sprouts and egg, and simmered in a broth.

The prawn tastes fairly fresh, the sotong is soft and the fish cake is firm and springy. The fried hokkien mee itself is fairly springy and has a mild smokiness of wok hei. Comes served with a piece of green lime and a dollop of slightly sweet tasting chilli paste on the side.

This plate of fried hokkien mee is rather likeable.

Fried Oyster Omelette

The fried oyster omelette has decently large size oysters that is plump and tastes fairly fresh. The egg and starch mixture has decent flavours, is moist and not crispy at all. Comes topped with some coriander leaves. This fried oyster omelette is just decent.

Fried Carrot Cake

The fried carrot cake is available in the usual black and white versions. Firm and springy cubes of radish cake are pan fried with eggs and chye poh. The white version is done flat pancake style, but unfortunately its egg coating is not crispy at all. The black version has sweet black sauce added, making it a bit moist and tastes a little sweet. Both versions of fried carrot cake are rather ordinary though.
