Review: Prata Wala (Singapore)
Good
REVIEW
Prata Wala
serves a selection of roti prata, thosai, briyani, etc. Their roti prata is good!
Roti Prata
Prata Wala does a selection of roti prata. Above is their plain prata and egg prata.
The plain prata is crispy and fluffy outside, firm and chewy inside. It has a nice buttery taste. The egg prata has a soft egg filling inside, with chewy prata skin and crispy outsides. Comes served with a nicely flavoured spicy curry with a tint of sweet.
Both roti prata are good. Personally I like the plain ones a little more due to its fluffy skin.
Thosai
A selection of thosai is served here as well.
The plain thosai is thin and slightly chewy with a mild crisp. It has a light savoury taste and is served with a nicely flavoured potato curry and a couple of chutney sauces. The coconut chutney has nice coconut flavours and mildly crunchy bits of coconut shavings. The red chutney is nicely flavoured with a tint of sweet.
This thosai is quite likeable.
Fried Chicken Briyani
The fried chicken briyani comes with a whole piece of fried chicken thigh served with briyani rice with a piece of papadam, achar and a serving of chicken curry sauce.
The briyani rice is firm and fragrant with nice flavourful tastes of spices. It is topped with some fried shallots. The fried chicken has moist meat and nice seasoning flavours. Its skin has nice savoury tastes but unfortunately is no longer crispy. Still likeable though. The papadam is thin and crispy, and the achar is crunchy with nice refreshing limey flavours. As for the curry sauce, it has nice spicy flavours.
This fried chicken briyani is a rather decent one.
