Chwee Kueh.

Bedok Chwee Kueh is probably one of the better chwee kueh in Singapore. Its steam rice cake is soft and springy, which is nice. However it is the chye poh that makes this chwee kueh wickedly good.

Its chye poh is the usual savoury type soaking in vegetable oil. If you are to taste it carefully, this chai poh is not just savoury, it also has a mildly sweet taste to it. Take a closer look and you can see sesame seeds added to the chye poh pieces. It is probably all these subtle differences that makes this so addictive. This chwee kueh makes an excellent snack or as a side.
