Satay

Yong Seng Satay sells satay with the usual choice of meats – chicken, pork and mutton. It comes served with cucumber slices on the plate and a bowl of satay sauce on the side.

The satay skewers are all very nicely grilled with a light crisp outside and moist meat inside. The chicken satay is soft and moist with decent flavours. The pork satay is meaty and sweet tasting with a piece of nicely grilled fatty bit in between. As for the mutton satay, it is meaty and chewy with nice smokey flavours and a tint of sweet. Not gamey either.

The satay sauce is thick and contains pieces of grated peanuts. It is nutty and a little bit spicy. Comes topped with pineapple puree. Tastes nice. Personally, I like the pork satay here. It is really good with nicely grilled crispy meaty bits and the fatty bits is especially good. The chicken and mutton ones are nice too. Thumbs up!
