Review: Tsubame Donut (Fukuoka, Japan)
Lemon
This donut has a firm texture and sponge-like insides. It has nice lemony flavours and a slightly sweet taste. It is coated with a layer of crunchy grated coconut and a slice of dried lemon tops it off. The lemon donut is nice.
Wasanbon
This donut is coated with wasanbon (japanese brown sugar). Soft and chewy with a nice sweet taste. Not overly sweet either. The amazing part, the sugar powder seems to cling onto the donut and not falling off. This donut is nice too.
Sugar
The sugar donut uses sugar icing instead of sugar powder. Soft dough that is slightly firm and chewy with a nice sweet taste that isn’t overpowering. Quite likeable.
